SeanBlackPhotography's channel on YouTube caught a sizable explosion during a Wichita building fire. It appears to be from the fire yesterday morning that included a series of explosions that already had heavily damaged the metal building belonging to Hall Steel and Fabrication, Inc at 800 N. Watch at 6:18 the force of the explosion blows off the chiefs helmet.

Crews were dispatched to a reported house fire at 402 Madison In New Chicago on 02-17-12, On arrival smoke was showing and a working fire was declared. Crews quickly stretched lines into the house to knock the fire down and a hole was cut in the roof of the living room/entrance. Shortly after the hole was cut there was a violent explosion that blew an officers helmet off his head and blew the leaves in the lawn. We are unsure what the explosion was. There were three members in the structure when this happened and all were ok. One other member suffered an asthma attack while fighting the fire and was treated on the scene. The Lake County Fire Investigators Team was requested to the scene to assist with cause and origin.

Interesting look into a fire that happened in Olathe, KS. Around 1:15 the house erupts into flames and forces smoke out the openings with high velocity.

This video features civilian removal from a second floor window in Edmonton on August 2nd at the Bethany Senior Citizens Home.

The firefighters get the civilian out safely, but I wonder if coming out of the window could have been made easier by removing the entire bottom sash. The situation in the video left the firefighters with only the bottom half of the window to get the occupant out.

At 10:50; Northampton County 911 dispatched a box for a dwelling for a fire in the attached garage. Chief 18 advised of heavy smoke 1 mile out and with radio transmissions advising multiple calls received he filled out the 1st alarm assignment.

He arrived to a well-involved 2-story single-family dwellling. He ordered the engine crew to pull the Blitz Fire to try and knock down the bulk of the fire. He also ordered another engine crew through the front door to try and make a stop.

But it was to late. The fire traveled vertically and into the attic space of the large house. The fire traveled the roof and eventually made it to the other side.

Tower Ladder 18 was set up and flowing water along with multiple large hand lines. At one point, Chief 18 ordered the evacuation of the building and went to exterior operations.

Command also noted that many hydrants in the subdivision were not working. He struck a tanker task force alarm bringing in 5 additional tankers.

Bulk of the fire was knocked down in 1.5 hours.

Multiple mutual aide companies from Northampton, Lehigh and Bucks County assisted.
